Our Mission
JC Lighthouse is a community-based organization. Our mission is to assist adults and youth with mental health and behavioral and psychological challenges in achieving social integration and preparing them to live in the local community. JC Lighthouse serves as an alternative to institutional care and will provide the individuals with opportunities of growth and stability within a safe and nurturing environment.
We believe in achieving self-actualization and addressing four basic principles:
Empowerment, Community, Integrity and Encouragement
To achieve our mission and outcome goals, JC Lighthouse and its team members hold two intermediate goals for serving individuals placed with JC Lighthouse:
1st) To enhance the probability of a stable placement
2nd) To enhance the probability of personal growth.
JC Lighthouse mission will be accomplished to the extent that JC Lighthouse can assist individuals in working towards achieving self-actualization and addressing four basic principles:
Empowerment: To be able to function in the world of work and support oneself. To be able to care for one's self in areas such as budgeting, maintaining a household, shopping, cooking, and laundry.
Community: To actively participate in the community; this means participating in voluntary associations, recreational interest groups, religious organizations, or other community organizations, and includes contributing to the benefit of the overall community.
Integrity: To be respectful of the rights of others, appreciate difference, and avoid victimizing others through illegal behavior. To accept responsibility for one's own behavior including taking steps to make amends for mistakes and omissions.
Encouragement: To be able to live in family or other intimate relationships where one gives and takes emotional support. JC Lighthouse’s goal is to build healthy family relationships for the individuals served, foster families & team members!
